HAPPY NEW YEAR

We hope everyone had a happy and peaceful few days and are looking forward to 2026 with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

We are all looking forward to witnessing many PBs and hopefully club records being bettered. We’ve checked the crystal ball, and we can see it is going to be a great year and interesting with the implementation of the new age groups from April 1st but, we know you are all going to be as great as you were in 2025.

FROSTBITE FRIENDLY LEAGUE

This is a reminder that the next race in the series is on Sunday 11th January 2026 @ Elm Sports Club, March.

First race is the junior run which starts at 9.45am with the seniors starting at 10.30am.

There are a few options for parking PE15 0PR – 4/5 mins walk to HQ; Foundry Way, PE15 0WR – 2/3 mins walk to sportsground; Flagrass Road, PE15 0BX – 13 mins walk to sportsground or Marwick Road, PE15 8PH – 11 mins walk back.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible, the juniors are currently in 3rd place so it would be great to maintain that position.

NORTH MIDS CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE

The final league fixture takes place on Saturday 10th January @ Bulwell Hall Park, Nottingham NG6 8LF. The senior ladies are off at 1.50pm followed by the senior men at 2.20pm.

FOLKSWORTH 15

ST VALENTINES 30km

Entries are now open for this race which will take place in Stamford on Sunday 15th February.

If you are in the U17 + age groups, please put these dates in your diary and if you are an official, it would be great if you can make yourself available to help at these matches.

EAST ANGLIAN LEAGUE 2026

The dates for the above league are Sunday 19th April, Sunday 31st May, Sunday 12th July and Sunday September 20th for the Final.

As soon as venues have been confirmed we will inform everyone but, we do think that the May 31st match will be held at Peterborough and that the July 12th match will also be held at Peterborough.In the meantime please put these dates in your diary and do your best to be available to compete, officiate or volunteer to help.

5KM ROAD RACE SERIES 2026

The proposed dates for the 2026 5km road series are:

10th June @ Eye

24th June @ Ferry Meadows

8th July @ Werrington 22nd July @ Stamford

5th August @ Ferry Meadows

There will be chip timing again, and it is likely that the courses at Werrington and Stamford will be slightly changed to have a Start/Finish closer to each other.

Currently we anticipate a change in the younger age groups to align with the proposed England Athletics age groups. As soon as this is clarified we will let you all know.

6th & 7th June - U20 / Senior Champs @ Bedford 6th & 7th June

MEMBERSHIP FEES 2026/27

Following the AGM earlier in November we can report that as from 1st March 2026 the membership structure will be as follows:

Adults (Over 18) £100; Under 18, Over 60, Full time education, second claim members (those who belong to another club), track only use £90; Under 11 £50; Associate members £20.

Those members who train at Boston will receive a £20 discount to reflect the extra charges incurred there.

We still have a few committee vacancies, mainly for admin roles. If you can help in any way no matter how small, please let us know. The more people who help, the lighter the load for everyone.

We witnessed some great running on a cold and frosty morning when all of our athletes delivered some impressive performances.

We came home with one silver and three bronze team medals. On the individual front Rachel Baker powered over the frosty course to claim herself a well-deserved gold medal in the W35 age group while Dan Lewis ran solidly to earn himself a bronze medal in the M45 category.

Lewis Legg, Nathan Bunting, Hannah Fitzjohn and Eloise Dobedoe all finished just outside of the individual medals.
